As NDCDE celebrates its 90th year of service to North Dakota schools, we’re proud to return to our agricultural roots in a forward-looking way. Beginning this summer, all agriculture courses will be taught in-house by a full-time, North Dakota-licensed agriculture teacher.
This shift is part of NDCDE’s broader move toward competency-based education, with all agriculture courses being aligned to North Dakota state standards and designed to support student mastery through personalized pacing and assessment.
Course offerings include:
- Principles of Agriculture (CTE Code: 01011, Launching June 1)
- Botany & Horticultural Sciences I & II (CTE Codes: 01053, 01054, Launching August 2025)
- AgriScience Technology I (CTE Code: 01021, Launching August 2025)
- Veterinary Science (CTE Code: 01067, Launching August 2025)
These courses will be delivered by a state-approved and Cognia-accredited institution, recognized for high-impact teaching and forward-thinking instructional design.
Tuition:
- $229 – NDSOS schools
- $259 – Large public districts and nonpublic schools
This change not only enhances instructional quality, but also advances our mission to deliver flexible, standards-based learning that meets the needs of North Dakota students and schools. We hope to expand agriculture offerings even further in the months and years to come.
NDCDE will send an email to principals and superintendents once courses are available in the NDCDE course store.
