Bismarck, N.D. — 10/7/2025 — The North Dakota Center for Distance Education (NDCDE) is pleased to have assisted the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI) in drafting new guidance issued on virtual education.

The document provides important clarification for North Dakota school leaders on areas where local districts have discretion under state law, while promoting best practices and ensuring that students continue to have access to high-quality virtual education options—including those offered through NDCDE. The guidance will be distributed widely at the upcoming statewide educational conferences this fall.

“This guidance reinforces North Dakota’s commitment to maintaining both access and integrity in online learning,” said Dr. Alyssa Martin, NDCDE Director. “We appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with DPI and school leaders from across the state to help ensure that students, regardless of location, can continue to benefit from high-quality virtual instruction.”
