Minimum Hardware and Software Configurations
Use one of the following Operating Systems when accessing NDCDE Courses:
- Microsoft Windows 10 (Latest 3 Versions - Version 20H2 or newer)
- Chrome OS (Chromebooks) Some course exceptions, review Chromebooks section below.
- Apple Mac (MacOS 10.15 Catalina or newer)
- Apple iPad (iPadOS 14 or newer) Some course exceptions, review iPads section below.
Internet Connection
Broadband High-Speed Internet is required. The amount of bandwidth required will vary on the number of concurrent users sharing your internet connection.
Chromebooks
Our online systems and services work fine with Chromebooks. There may be a few courses that require specialized/additional Windows software. These courses will be identified in our online store.
The most common stumbling block for Chromebook users will be if they have to FILL OUT an assignment that’s in PDF format. The issue will not apply to ALL PDF files that you fill in. For the few that are problematic there are simple workarounds if you are familiar with the features of Google Docs and Google Drive. For more tips on Chromebook PDF Issues, refer to this page. iPads
The newer and faster the iPad the better the user experience. Lightweight devices such as Apple iPads may require extra work-around steps or alternate browsers to engage with some portions of a course. There may be a few courses that require specialized/additional windows software. These courses will be identified in our online store. Be sure to review our iPad Tips page.
