The percentage shown in Buzz is a raw proficiency percentage, not the learner's actual percentage on a traditional grading scale. Learners and families need to use the NDCDE Proficiency to Final Percentage Conversion Chart to determine the traditional percentage grade. Genius may also display course information differently because it receives data from the LMS for reporting.
When a learner demonstrates proficiency through a knowledge check and is exempted from related work, the exemption should appear in the gradebook.
No. Learners have flexibility within their course enrollment period, but they are expected to make consistent progress and complete the course by the established end date.
Learners must follow the pacing and academic-progress expectations established by their local school or program in addition to NDCDE's course enrollment expectations.
A score of 3 means the learner has demonstrated proficiency in the standard or skill being measured. Because proficiency scores are not traditional points, the raw LMS percentage needs to be converted to determine the traditional percentage grade.
A traditional percentage alone does not always show which skills a learner has mastered and which still need attention. CBE makes learning more transparent by connecting progress to specific standards and skills.
