General Education Credits

North Dakota Center for Distance Education (NDCDE) has partnered with Bismarck State College (BSC) to provide students with the opportunity to earn high school and college credit for the same course. The qualifications needed to take college courses from BSC are listed below:

Qualifications

  • Must be a high school sophomore, junior, or senior.
  • Must have at least a cumulative 2.0 GPA (Mandan requires 3.0).
  • Must meet any course placement score and/or prerequisites to enroll.
  • Permission from parent/legal guardian and high school designee.

Enrollment and Registration

NDCDE requires students to complete an application to determine their eligibility for dual credit courses. This process begins with students, parents, or schools completing the NDCDE Dual Credit Inquiry form. This form must be completed before selecting and checking out with one of these courses in the NDCDE store.

Once NDCDE has verified a student is eligible for dual credit, it will provide instructions on completing the BSC application process. You can also learn more about this process on the BSC Dual Credit webpage.
